UK-JHF Executive Committee speaks to Kentucky Antisemitism Taskforce

In March, the Kentucky Antisemitism Task Force heard from a group from the University of Kentucky that trains teachers on how to approach and teach students about antisemitism and the Holocaust. Kentucky Lantern Highlights Initiative Opportunities for Kentucky Teachers

Teachers across Kentucky have the opportunity to enhance K-12 Holocaust education through a University of Kentucky-led training initiative, according to a news release from UK. UK-JHF Initiative Featured on Fox56 News

Local television news channel Fox56 and reporter Colleen Finney features UK-JHF Holocaust Education Initiative and opportunities for local teachers. "The goal is to teach 500 teachers across the state and create a network to keep education about the Holocaust going once the workshops are over. Registration is currently open for online and in-person sessions across the state from late January to early June.

Initiative featured in UK Now

Lexington, Ky, (May 31, 2022) - A new initiative led by Jewish Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Kentucky will provide educators from across the Commonwealth with the professional development and teaching tools necessary to enhance K-12 Holocaust education. Funded by a grant from the Jewish Heritage Fund, the UK-JHF Holocaust Education Initiative will create opportunities for interdisciplinary content sharing, pedagogical training and collaborative planning.
